Seriously?
I had a plan awhile ago to make Fridays pizza days. The plan failed just like lots of my good intenions. Well, this Friday I regained control and officially made it Pizza Friday again (dang it!).
Tobias and I cranked up a little Dizzy Gillespie and let out the week’s stresses in our dough. He was frustrated that the music I chose didn’t have any electric guitar or drums, so he decided to use the dough as a drum….a nice quiet solution, I might add.
I love my mom. We are alike in many ways but also very different. My kids are grateful for the differences. I’m very practical. She puts things like the Ove Glove on her Christmas list. I don’t buy any “unnecessary crap” from Kroger, she sees it as necessary fun.
When we got to her house on Christmas Eve, the kids each found a pooping animal on their plate. This brought an insane amount of joy. I would have never splurged to buy the pooping animals but I’m thankful she will. Life is definitely more fun this way.
We made a conscious decision to really slow things down over winter break. We stayed home a lot, said no to things, and it really felt good. Instead of heading out into the hustle and bustle, Ben made a fire, I made root beer floats, and we played one of Ezra’s new games. Why don’t we do this more often?
We all love Legos at our house. Irene’s big present this year was the Lego Pet Shop, which she assembled completely on her own. Ezra entered the Ninjago realm, and Tobias even got his own little set. Irene even let the ninjas visit the pet shop, although she made them leave their weapons at the door.
